Central City Users Invited to Have Their Say
Thursday, 12 January 2012
Hot on the heels of a positive review by the Lonely Planet and being listed as one of the top 16 cities to watch by ForeignPolicy.com, the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority is asking property and business owners, as well as their customers, how they want to rebuild the city centre.
“The Central City Commercial Property Study will help us really understand the wants and needs of property owners, tenants and other users of the central city,” said CERA Chief Executive Roger Sutton.
“This information will give us, the Government and Christchurch City Council, a strong platform from which to action the Central City Plan,” said Mr Sutton.
Peter Townsend, CEO of the Canterbury Employers Chamber of Commerce, says he is delighted that business and property owners will be providing input through the survey. “We will be encouraging all our members to participate,” he said.
Property and building owners will be contacted directly by members of the research team, led by Ernst & Young.
Anyone who wishes to take part in the survey can log on to http://www.centralcitystudy.org.nz/
The survey results will be delivered to CERA in February.
